nanoTicket is a flexible system that can be used in several scenarios:

  • As a pure ticketing system
  • As an innovative couponing solution
  • As a non-cash means of payment in the future

The product is based on four components:

  • A web based portal solution to sell the tickets or distribute coupons to the end customers
  • A web based backend to manage events and couponing campaigns by the business customers
  • An internal backend to manage the billing processes and business customer accounts
  • A scan application to verify tickets and coupons in real-time

In both usecases (ticketing and couponing) the technical basis is identical. Customers register themselves, by a ticket or request a coupon and get it via email to print it at home or via MMS directly on their mobile phone. In case of special customers wishes the tickets/coupons can also be distributed as classical print-tickets. In all cases the ticket or coupon mainly consists of a data matrix (2D barcode) that includes all relevant information. Additionally every kind of information regarding the event or campaign can be added. In case of MMS, additional information an advertisement can even be added as picture, hyperlink or video.

Verification and devaluation is done by scanning the data matrix and sending its content in real time to the nanoTicket server. At this every kind of Internet connection can be used. In case of an interruption of the Internet connection, the scanning application can use locally cached data.
